Welcome to Second Grade!
Dear Marvelous Second Grader,
My name is Ms. Eve and I am your second-grade teacher. I am delighted that you will be in our class this year! We are going to learn so many new and exciting things together.This is my 10th year teaching second grade at West Mercer Elementary. I think that second grade is the best grade ever!
In second grade it is important that we work together as a classroom community. We will be spending a lot of time together, so it is important to treat each other with kindness and compassion. We are all special and unique. I am looking forward to learning who you are and what interests you.
We are going to learn and grow together as a community in Room 1. You may feel excited, nervous, anxious, happy, and many other feelings about starting a new school year. You are not alone! We all feel many things with change.
I can’t wait to meet you and your family at Open House on August 27th from 3-4 PM. You will be able to view our classroom, see some of your new classmates, and know where to line up for our first day on Wednesday August 31. I look forward to meeting you and your family at Open House! If you are unable to come, don't worry, we have a whole year to get to know each other.
