MISD Has Received Over $300,000 In Incentives and Energy Saving Costs Through Partnership with PSE’s CSEM Program
Mercer Island, WA, July 3, 2024 – The Mercer Island School District is pleased to announce over the last three years it has received over $300,000 in incentives and energy savings costs from the Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Commercial Strategic Energy Management (CSEM) program.
MISD has just completed a three-year partnership with the CSEM which helps commercial customers earn incentives for making low and no-cost changes that reduce energy usage and energy bills. Changes are largely to operations, maintenance and behavioral practices.
Through CSEM, MISD has received direct incentives from PSE totaling over $70,000 with avoided costs over $230,000. In total, over the span of three years, this amounts to over $300,000 in incentives and avoided costs.
Our electric savings of 1,490,432 kWh over the past three years is equivalent to 205 homes’ electricity use for one year or over 120,000 gallons of gas. The natural gas savings over the past three years of 105,524 therms are equivalent to another 62,000 gallons of gas or over 72 homes’ energy use for one year.
We are grateful to our Facilities and Operations team members; whose hard work made these incentives and savings possible.
MISD will be signing up for another three-year partnership with PSE’s CSEM program.
