Mercer Island, WA, May 31, 2023 - The Mercer Island School District Transportation Department will be hosting rides and tours of our new Electric School Bus this Saturday, June 3, to introduce the Island community to the new bus.

Community members will have the opportunity to come tour the bus, ask questions about the bus, and then take a ride on the bus to Mercer Island’s downtown business district and back. A 20% off coupon for food at either Vivienne's Bistro or Hap's Burgers & Taps on Saturday only is included in the tours and rides.

Bus riders will be able to get off at the Vivienne's Bistro and Hap's Burgers & Taps stop to grab lunch and then catch the bus back to their start location at a later scheduled time. The ride is a round trip ride which can include lunch.

Transportation Director Patrick Rock has developed an Electric School Bus schedule with three different MISD schools as start and end locations. There will be two stops in the downtown business district to drop off and pick up passengers. All three start locations will include a question and answer session before the bus ride starts.
