Green Team

Students decide on ways to make the school more environmentally friendly. Every week we will do something green to help the school (courtyard cleaning, trash patrol, planting, recycling, etc.)!

Talent Show

Students have the opportunity to share skills with the community while also developing confidence and performance skills. 

Informational meeting in December with after school rehearsals on Mondays and Wednesdays in January

Anticipated participants–40 acts with 1 or more students per act

Anyone may participate. Students will be informed about the event in December and will rehearse after school in January.

Peer Mediators

Laurel Baker

Educating 4th and 5th grade students on peer mediation techniques and restorative conversations.  Then having those students out at primary recess helping younger students problem solve and engage in peer activities.  

One two hour training and then a lunch meeting several times a year.

5th grade is trained in October and 4th grade joins late winter.  There is an application process.

Leadership Ambassadors

Involving 3-5th graders (adding 2nd graders in the spring) in leadership roles at West Mercer. This includes, but is not limited to, welcoming students each morning at car drop off and the bus loop, assisting younger students in getting to class (if needed), and anchoring the daily Wolf Pack Wake Up announcements.

Students are scheduled once a week for their shift and 1-2 times a month for the Wolf Pack Wake Up

Students apply in the fall. There will be another round of applications in January for grades 3-5, then in late March for 2nd grade

Circle Up!

Students engage in FUN physical games and activities as a group and teams as well. It’s a GREAT way to kick off Thursday and Friday mornings!

We meet Thursday and Friday mornings from 8:15-9:00am in the gymnasium.

Registration is required.  We have a limit of 25 students.

All ages are welcome and encouraged.

Homework Club/ Learning Lab

Students have the opportunity to catch up on assignments or work quietly during their lunch and recess.  Optional- no one is forced to go.

Every Friday from 12:35-1:15 gr. 3-5

Every Wednesday gr. k-2  11:30 - 12:10
